Westell 2200 NAT Router Setup

Start with a computer connected to the Westell 2200 DSL Router.

Have the IP settings on that machine set to obtain an IP automatically. Be sure there isn't a gatweay specified in the IP settings. Everything should be set to automatic.

Open your browser, Internet Explorer or Netscape 7.*. Enter the URL http://192.168.1.1/ and press Enter. The "Getting Started" wizard should appear. You can name the connection (not manadatory) but do not enter a username and password and then click OK. Click Next.
Do not make any changes to the VPI/VCI option. These default values are correct.

You will be given the Protocol option. Change the default PPPoE option to Bridge. Click Next. The wizard is now complete. Click Done. Then the modem will be restarted.

After the modem resets (The westell lights on the modem will flash for a while then go solid again) return to the web interface at http://192.168.1.1/

You need to select the menu option; Configuration.

Then select VC Configuration.

Choose to 'edit' the one that is 'enabled'.

The VC1 config screen will appear. Change the protocol to Bridge, then below set the Mode to Routed Bridge. Then check off enable DHCP Client. The modem will reset one last time.

You are complete with the setup!

You can now connect the Westell 2200 and multiple machines to a HUB or Switch. The workstations will obtain an IP Address from the Westell Router.

MV cannot offer much support regarding the extended features of the Westell Router. You would need to refer to the manual.
